The official App of the 31st Hamburg International Short Film Festival (June 9 - 15, 2015)

Like short films themselves, the 31st Hamburg International Short Film Festival is both challenging and wilful. Our guests come from all over the world, bringing new international film art to the city. The festival presents contemporary cinematic art as well as up-and-coming artists from their respective national academies and it sharpens the audience’s perception of short films as the laboratories or the wrecking balls of cinematic illusions. As a bonus, it is great fun as well.

Our selection panels screened over 6,000 submissions from more than 70 countries, and they picked the best films from this enormous variety of contemporary cinematic art for our competitions. All in all, we are going to screen more than 200 films in the International, NoBudget, German, Hamburg and Three-Minute-Quickie competitions.

So let’s keep our eyes peeled! In three months, it’s going to happen again: 300 films with a multitude of origins, genres and cinematic languages in five competitions, five special programmes and several additional screenings and events. In the cinemas and at the Kolbenhof area with its NoBudget-Hotel, KurzFilmKlause, club, workshops and open air screenings.
